Dave Frissyn crossing  the bridge on Donner Pass Road at dawn.  Old 40, as the old hughway across Donner Pass is known, is one of the best longboarding roads in the Sierras.  Three and a half  winding miles of steep descent and some of the most scenic views in the country take you down to Donner Lake, where the infamous Donner Party camped out and ate each other.
